The Civil Wars' Debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart With Sophomore Album

Despite all of the chaos behind the scenes, The Civil Wars have still managed to snag the #1 album in the USA thanks to a strong sales number well over 100k. Continue on to learn more about the success of The Civil Wars and the continued success of the duo's debut Barton Hollow.

After its initial week out on the streets, the numbers are in and The Civil Wars' sophomore album lands atop the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S. with sales of 116,000 units. The project has become the duo's best single week performance of their career, as it also debuted at No. 1 in Canada, No. 2 in the United Kingdom and No. 3 in Ireland. 

The video for album's latest single, "The One That Got Away," has also been creating a stir in recent weeks as it has just been added to VH1, CMT and mtvU. A video featuring the album track “Same Old Same Old” also made its premiered recently at VH1 and CMT. However, it's not just their sophomore album making noise. Their critically acclaimed debut album did its job by getting the duo's name on the musical map. The Grammy-winning album debuted at No. 12 in February 2011 with sales of 25,00 units and has since been certified gold (Scanned sales are over 625,000 units).    

The Civil Wars, produced by Charlie Peacock, was recorded in Nashville between August 2012 and January 2013. Barton Hollow was also produced by Charlie Peacock.
