Sturgill Simpson will be reaching a career milestone this Friday night as the Alt Country singer takes the stage at the Grand Ole Opry for the very first time.
Opry veteran Marty Stuart, who is set to introduce Simpson on the big night, says, "Walking out onto the stage of the Grand Ole Opry for the first time is a milestone in any artist's career. I'll be cheering for Sturgill Simpson when he makes his debut on August 23, 2013. I have no doubt that it will be a memorable night. I'll pass along the same words to him that Minnie Pearl often said to new artists before their first appearance on the Opry: 'Just go out there and love them, and they'll love you back.'"
Simpson is currently on the Top 20 on the Americana albums chart with his debut album High Top Mountain. Check out a list of his current tour dates below.
