Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" Becomes the Hottest Country Song in 50 Years

In one of the most remarkable stories to hit Country music in years, Florida Georgia Line's debut single "Cruise" goes from unknown to world-wide Country Music record-breaker with a story that just keeps on getting more interesting. Read on here to see how they've got the biggest hit in 50 years.

We all saw it coming. When Florida Georgia Line broke out on the country charts with "Cruise," music history was being made ... we just didn't know it yet. The tune has since taken on a life of its own, and now the duo's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard can refer to it as the "hottest country song in 50 years." That is what the tune has become, according to Billboard.

"Cruise" has remained on the top of Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart for 17 weeks, which makes it the tune with the longest stretch on top of that chart since "Walk on By" from Leroy Van Dyke back in 1962. At the time, the song held down the No. 1 slot for 19 weeks. The record for the longest chart-topper belongs to Eddy Arnold, Hank Snow and Webb Pierce, who all share the title with a total of 21 weeks at the top in their careers.

Seeing how the song (which has already gone triple-platinum) keeps selling like hot cakes, Kelley and Hubbard are well on their way for setting a brand new record. Congrats, guys!
