This week (Tuesday, July 23), the first George Jones tribute album will arrive in stores, honoring the legendary singer who passed away in April.

The 10-track album titled God's Country: George Jones and Friends will be released through Red River Entertainment and features the Garth Brooks and George Jones duet "Beer Run," Vince Gill ("She Thinks I Still Care"), Mark Chesnutt ("Walk Through This World With Me"), Tanya Tucker ("Window Up Above"), Joe Diffie ("White Lightning"), Sammy Kershaw ("He Stopped Loving Her Today"), Pam Tillis ("Take Me"), Tracy Lawrence ("The One I Loved Back Then (Corvette Song)"), and a duet by Donna Faegan and Joe Diffie ("Golden Rings"/"We're Gonna Hold On" Medley).

The album is also rounded out by Jones himself singing "God's Country.",  "Nobody in the world sings like George Jones and nobody can sing like him," notes Vince Gill."Without George Jones, we wouldn't have anything we have today," adds Tracy Lawrence. The album was recorded prior to the icon's death (in 2006), which allowed him the chance to see and hear the special tribute made from his friends. The package also includes a behind-the-scenes DVD of the making of the album.

"I want to thank everyone involved in this project," Jones stated back when the CD was originally recorded. "I particularly want to thank all of the artists who participated in this wonderful tribute to my music." George Jones had over 150 hits throughout his career. The Possum passed away in April of this year at the age of 81.
