Country Album Chart News: The Week of July 31, 2013: Guy Clark, Pam Tillis/Lorrie Morgan debut; Top 10 Albums (lead by Florida Georgia Line) Unchanged

The Country Albums Sales Chart is virtually unchanged this week but we do find catalog releases from Jason Aldean, Johnny Cash and Pistol Annies getting RIAA Certifications for Gold/Platinum while new albums debuting include Pam/Lorrie's Grits & Glamour and Guy Clark's latest album.

Florida Georgia Line sales hold steady; stay at #1 on Roughstock’s Top 10 Country Album Sales Chart this week. No real change in Top 5.

It’s another week at the top for Florida Georgia Line and Here’s To The Good Times as the top 5 albums remains the same as last week. It’s just a slow few weeks on the chart. The FGL album is about a month away from scanning past the Platinum mark (it’s at 917k to date). Blake Shelton’s Based On A True Story... is now at 779k sold while Hunter Hayes’s Hunter Hayes /(Encore!)has now sold 908k. Sitting at #4 iDarius Rucker’s True Believers. Darius has now moved 292k copies of the album in 10 weeks on the charts (for an average of 29k per week) while Taylor Swift rounds out the Top 5 with Red. She’s now sold 3.76m copies of the album.

Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney lead the #6-#10 slots on our chart rundown..

The second half of this week’s Roughstock Top 10 Country Albums chart features Lady Antebellum’s Golden at #6 (380k sold), Jason Aldean’s Night Train (1.36 million sold), Kenny Chesney’s Life On A Rock (329k sold), The Band Perry’s Pioneer (394k sold) and the latest Now That’s What I Call Country compilation, Now Country 6 (88k sold).

Notable albums include debuts from Songwriting legend Guy Clark and Grits and Glamour’s underwhelming debut for those Dos Divas, Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan.

The notables section is started by Guy Clark’s My Favorite Picture Of You album. The songwriting legend’s latest album for Dualtone scanned nearly 6,000 copies last week. The album is followed by three albums with strong sales increases this week, Tim McGraw’s Two Lanes Of Freedom, Randy Houser’s How Country Feels and Kip Moore’s Up All Night. Our rundown is completed this week by the very underwhelming 700 copies. in other chart news, Jason Aldean’s Relentless album has scanned Platinum, as has Kenny Chesney’s Greatest Hits Volume 2 while Johnny Cash’s Legend of Johnny Cash has scanned Triple Platinum (3.007 million). Pistol Annies Hell On Heels has been certified Gold (sales are at 503k).
