With fans ready for new music, Hunter Hayes delivered at yesterday's Hunter Hayes (Encore) Listening Party, offering insights into why he wasn't quite ready to move onto album #2, stating, "You only have one first album." Instead, what he premiered to a sold-out exclusive listening party with 200 of his biggest fans was the new tracks on Hunter Hayes (Encore). Hunter even went on to say when discussing the decision to actually add more music to the album, (Paraphrasing) "I didn't want to call it a 'deluxe album' and as we thought about it more, I kinda joked about it being called the encore, but that really fit. It's like the best part of a live show, the encore."
With I Want Crazy storming up the charts and now Gold, Hunter talked about his re-recorded songs like "More Than I Should" ("I needed to be angrier on it"), "Everybody's Got Somebody But Me" ("it was inspired by Jason Mraz so it was my way of getting him to sing with me"). Finally, he performed the duet with "What You Gonna Do" with Ashley Monroe, who is set to be his touring partner come this fall.
The event featured the duet with Ashley performed acoustically along with "Somebody's Heartbreak," "I Want Crazy" and, of course, "Wanted," which was performed acoustically. Throughout the show, Hunter proved poised and excited to share the new music and above all, he was appreciative of the fans who've joined him on his journey to stardom.
Hunter Hayes (Encore) Will be released on June 18, 2013.
