Single Review: Eli Young Band - Drunk Last Night

With "Drunk Last Night," Eli Young Band returns with the lead single for their second Republic Nashville album, set to be released later this year. The song follows the Platinum #1 hits "Crazy Girl" and "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" and the Top 20 "Say Goodnight." Take a look here to see what we think of EYB's latest sing

Eli Young Band broke through in 2011/2012 with a pair of #1 hits in "Crazy Girl" and "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," both songs which were on the most-played songs in all of Country radio so to say the bar has been raised by the popular Texas band is an understatement. Consider that bar met with "Drunk Last Night," the lead single from their upcoming third major label album (and fifth overall).

"Drunk Last Night" is melodic with Mike Eli's inviting vocal describing that feeling of a man who can't move on from a recent relationship and how he drunk dials her when he gets to drunk after something triggers his memory (Mighta been a song on the radio/Mighta been nothing, baby I don't know/Mighta been too tired to fight/Mighta been I got a little drunk last night).

The performance from Eli Young Band is strong, the production showcases what has helped EYB break-out with an identifiable brand of country music and in the end, "Drunk Last Night" is a great showcase to the quartet's upcoming album and a song which should very easily become their next big hit.
