Jimmy Wayne Launches "Ruby's Pet Treats" As Way To Continue Awareness for Kids in Need

Not a single day goes by that the "Do You Believe Me Now" singer Jimmy Wayne isn't putting his heart to good use, especially when it comes to helping underprivileged kids -- like he once was years ago. Read on to learn how he decided to create a new line of products to help homless children and pets.

Not a single day goes by that singer Jimmy Wayne isn't putting his heart to good use, especially when it comes to helping underprivileged kids -- like he once was years ago. Three years after walking halfway across America on his Meet Me Halfway campaign to raise awareness for foster youth, Wayne ("Do You Believe Me Now," "I Love You This Much") has thought up another angle to continue to give back.

Wayne has teamed up with Cost Less Pet Treats to launch "Ruby's Pet Treats," coined after his sweet chihuahua he rescued while walking through Texas during Project MMH. The online pet store will give pet owners and their fur babies some uniquely crafted treats, but the end result is what really counts. A percentage of each item sold through Ruby's Pet Treats will benefit both the Humane Society of Genessee County in Michigan (a no-kill animal shelter), as well as Project MMH.

"When I found Ruby, she reminded me of a foster kid ... the same kids I was walking for," Wayne tells Roughstock. "Ruby had been in a kill shelter, but was rescued by a couple in Texas who also invited me to stay in their home for the night. Ruby was laying in a doggie bed. She was the runt and the smallest of the three siblings. The rest is history the moment I saw her."

Ruby's Pet Treats features an array of options, one being three-inch Peanut Butter Biscuits, which happens to be Miss Ruby's favorite snack on the site. The Peanut Butter Biscuits are available in a five-pack for $1.49. Other products offered include rawhides, natural treats, gourmet treats, healthy choice treats, designer and stainless steel bowls, dog toys, among other items.
