Earlier this week, Jason Aldean's personal life made headlines everywhere when news broke that he filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years, Jessica Ussery.
Aldean has been quiet about the topic, but has released an official statement on the matter through PEOPLE magazine.
"This is a really tough time for my entire family," Aldean says in the statement. "Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple.
"She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children," he continues. "I know that we will both always make our daughters our number one priority."
Aldean cited irreconcilables in the paperwork filed in a Williamson County, TN court on April 26. The couple has two daughters, Keeley, 10, and Kendyl, 5.
