BluRay Review: Safe Haven

Country Music singer Julianne Hough stars with Josh Duhamel in Safe Haven a film adapted by Lasse Hallström and writers from Nicholas Sparks 2010 novel of the same name. Read on to see what we think of the new Blu-ray release here!

Hallström and the producers selected Country singer and actress/dancer Julianne Hough (s as the female lead with the handsome Josh Duhamel her love interest. Hough's character Katie seeks refuge in the Southport, North Carolina seaside town that is the home to Duhamel's widower (and father of two) Alex. How Katie ends up in Southport is showcased through the first two acts and the final act features the plot twist of plot twists before an even more perplexing plot twist at the end nearly derails the film. Quite simply, while still a very enjoyable film with charmismatic performances, Safe Haven would've been a much better film without the final twist.

Whether you ultimiately enjoy Safe Haven will be how open you are to watching Nicholas Sparks romantic films like The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, Dear John, The Last Song, and The Lucky One. If you go into the film with 'no expectations' you will be entertained. Lasse Hallström (Who also directed Dear John) is a strong director and doens't make terrible films.

The Fox distributed Relativity package is a combo pack Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy presentation and can be purchased at Amazon or one of your local stores.
