American Idol Reaches Final Two; Keith Urban, Other Judges Not Returning Next Season

Kree Harrison, a popular demo and background singer in Nashville, has made it to the finale of American Idol's 12th season, joining Gospel/R&B vocalist Candice Glover. In other Idol news, news broke yesterday that the entire judging panel and exec producers will be replaced for next year's season 13.

The twefth season offered so much promise talent wise, particularly on the female side as the show reached the final five without one male contestant left (probably because they made an active effort to not have a guy reach further than that). The final 5 included Country singers Janelle Arthur and Kree Harrison with Harrison landing in the finale of Season 12 with Gospel/R&B vocalist Candice Glover.

Harrison has remained the most consistent throughout the entire progrma but win or lose, she's all but assured of garnering a record deal with Interscope and one of the Universal Music Group's labels in Nashville as not one of the Top 2 singers in a given season hasn't had the chance at scoring a record deal with the sponsoring recording label.

After the show was over last night, news broke that in addition to Randy Jackson leaving the show after 12 years, the other judges Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, and Nicki Minaj are expected to leave the show after one season as the show looks to re-tool the panel once again, in a way to revive their flagging ratings (which are still good enough for Top 5). the show runner Nigel Lythgoe is expected to leave the program as well.
