Dierks Bentley is prepping to release a new studio album called RISER - a project which the Country star has cited as his most personal album release to date.  The album was written and recorded in the year following the death of Bentley's father.  The loss served as inspiration for the song "I'm a Riser," from which the album draws its title.

“Life in general has a way of knocking you down,” Bentley says. “It’s different reasons for different folks – could be personal reasons, could be family reasons, your job, drugs, alcohol. That song really applies to anybody that’s lived. There have always been those moments when we have to get back up and get on our feet.  They are defining moments…breakthrough moments.”

Bentley strayed from the conventional record-making process in creating this album, recording in a variety of locations including his own tour bus as well as the home of producer Ross Copperman (also a co-writer of Bentley's recent hit "Tip It On Back").
