Album Review: Cody Bryan Band - Wreck Me

Hit artists can sometimes come from unexpected places and that's exactly what happens with Cody Bryan Band with their debut album Wreck Me. The album showcases one of the most talented singer/songwriters to emerge in years. Take a deeper look with us as we discuss the Cody Bryan Band's debut here!

Produced by Matt Noveskey, the bass player for Platinum act Blue October, Wreck Me never feels like it's not a record for Country audiences, even with the Adult Alternative Rock sounds from above. "That's Why God Made Saturday Night" showcases this with a load of hammond and a two-step backbeat meant to get people dancing in the honky tonks while "You're Worth It" is a steel-drenched love song that recalls early Cross Canadian Ragweed (Bryan's voice is similar to Canada's at times).  "Why We Were Made" is one of the strongest lyrics I've heard in a long time. It's a beautiful, beautiful song.

There's just something about Cody Bryan Band's music that reels you in. Wreck Me may be the debut album for the band but from listening to the record you'd never guess so. It feels like a confident collection of strongly written and performed songs with an engaging lead vocalist (Cody Bryan). I'd be shocked if Nashville labels don't come calling to help bring Cody Bryan Band to mainstream success like Republic Records/Republic Nashville has been able to do with Eli Young Band.
