George Strait scores latest #1 Country Album with Love Is Everything. Trace Adkins debuts with Love Will.... Country Dominates Top 40 Albums on SoundScan Top 200 Albums Chart
With 120,000 copies sold, George Strait’s latest album -- the th album of his career -- Love Is Everything easily took home the #1 spot on our chart this week, a good 64,000 copies ahead of this week’s #2, Lady Antebellum’s Golden, last week’s chart-topping album. Pistol Annies sophomore album Annie Up is #3 this week with total sales now at 114,000 copies in two weeks while Blake Shelton surpasses the Gold scanned mark with sales now at 522,000 copies for Based On A True Story. Rounding out the Top 5 is the former #1 album Life On A Rock from Kenny Chesney.
Trace Adkins Wins Apprentice, Love Will... album debuts at #6.
Sales were pretty strong for Trace Adkins third Show Dog-Universal album with Love Wil... scoring 25,000 sold the week of release, not bad for an album without a big radio singe...yet (“Watch The World End” was just released). Florida Georgia Line sits at #7 with Here’s To The Good Times, the duo’s Republic Nashville debut album has sold 601,000 copies to date and is set to release third single “Round Here” To radio soon. First two singles “Cruise” and “Get Your Shine On” were both chart-topping hits. Republic Nashville’s The Band Perry is next with 15,000 fans taking home the seven week old album Pioneer. They’ve now sold over 304,000 copies of the sophomore release which features “DONE.” and “Better Dig Two.” The two-week-old soundtrack to the Music of Nashville is next with total sales at 42,000 after two weeks. Tim McGraw’s Two Lanes Of Freedom sits at #10 this week with total sales of over 323,000 in 15 weeks on the charts (nearly 4 months).
Brad Paisley’s Wheelhouse, Jason Boland and the Stragglers Dark & Dirty Mile lead notable albums this week while Luke Bryan’s Talgates & Tanlines album scans Double Platinum.
Notable albums on our chart rundown this week include Brad Paisley’s six week old Wheelhouse, the album which features “Beat This Summer” and “Southern Comfort Zone.” Luke Bryan’s tailgatees & tanlines has officially scanned Double Platinum for the Capitol Nashville artist. He’s set to release the proper follow-up in August (this spring’s Spring Break...Here To Party surpassed 400,000 copies sold this week). Jason Boland & The Stragglers are a country group from Texas and they debut this week with the 25th best-selling Country album. The album titled Dark & Dirty Mile sold 5,000 copies. Thompson Square just sent “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinkin’ About To Radio” this week. It’s the follow-up to Just Feel Good’s Gold-selling #1 lead single “If I Didn’t Have You.” Finally this week, we find now traditionalist Georgia Holt. The newcomer’s album Honky Tonk Woman has sold 3,000 copies in three weeks on the chart.
