LoCash Cowboys, Andy Griggs and Rhett Akins Among Artists That Participated in 12th Annual Busch Country Goes Huntin' Celebrity Turkey Hunt and Concert

Country Goes Huntin' is an annual event in the south that finds Country Music stars partaking in turkey hunting season in Georgia. This year Jeff Bates, JJ Lawhorn, Rhett Akins, Daryle Singletary, Bobby Pinson, Andy Griggs and LoCash Cowboys participated. Read here to learn more about the event!

Akins was among those who were successful in the woods, as he was part of a triple kill -- the first ever done at CGH. Ryan Klesko, Chris Lucas of the LoCash Cowboys, Daryle Singletary and Michael Ray also found themselves bagging gobblers throughout the week.

In addition to the much needed quiet time in the woods for the celebrities, they were also on hand to raise funds for this year's chosen charity, KWO (Keep Warriors Outdoors) -- a non profit organization that puts focus into helping wounded warriors rediscover their passion for the great outdoors.

Following two full days of hunting, the singing celebs headed to Dothan, AL where they took turns in the spotlight performing at local club, Cowboys on Thursday, March 28. The evening was emceed by singer-songwriter Bobby Pinson and featured music from all the country artists on hand hunting. Proceeds raised from ticket sales and the silent auction all went directly to KWO.

"Country Goes Huntin is always one of my favorite times of the year," Preston Brust of the LoCash Cowboys tells Roughstock. "This is probably our fifth or sixth year straight! Chasin' turkeys in Alabama and Georgia has become something I really look forward to every March. Of course I always wanna get a turkey, but even when I don't -- like this year -- it really makes me realize how much I enjoy just sittin' around the campfire with all our old huntin' buddies and singin' for a great charity."
