For the fourth straight year, Darius Rucker will gather some of his famous singing pals to throw his "Darius and Friends" benefit concert as part of CMA Music Festival week in Nashville. Like years past, the concert will consist of an all-star lineup and 100 percent of proceeds raised will go directly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The 2013 concert is set to take place on Monday, June 3 from the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon in the heart of downtown Nashville. The three previous "Darius and Friends" have been sell outs and have featured artists including Rodney Atkins, Clint Black, Radney Foster, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson and Kid Rock. Rucker anticipated announcing his lineup for this year's event in the coming weeks.
"We started this event with a simple goal in mind and that was to raise money for St. Jude," says Rucker. "I had visited their campus in Memphis and was so blown away at the facility, staff, and service that I made a pledge to contribute annually. It’s a bonus that I have had such amazing friends join us in the effort."
Since its inception, “Darius and Friends” has raised more than $125,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital throughcharity auctions, celebrity golf tournaments and his annual concert event.
