Florida Georgia Line rebounds to #1 with “Cruise” benefitting from two versions for sale, one with Nelly (the remix) and the original version. ACM Awards helps Top 30 chart feature mostly sales increases for week
Florida Gergia Line’s remix with Nelly helped “Cruise” jump from #8 to #1 on our chart with sales of 248,000 (186,000 of them from the cruise remix alone). Darius Rucker has moved another 98,000 copies of “Wagon Wheel” (his best week yet) and because of this the single is now his latest Gold-selling single with sales over 620,000 sold. Blake Shelton’s recent Digital and Airplay #1, “Sure Be Cool If You Did” scored a sales increase of 37% and is now a week or so away from scoring a Platinum sales mark. Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift’s “Highway Don’t Care” is a week or two away from a Gold sales mark as well. The #5 single this week, “Mama’s Broken Heart” actually scored a 16% sales increase over last week but fell two slots. Still, the single has sold 660,000 copies to date.
Top 10 features “Boys ‘Round Here” from Blake; “DONE.” from from Thompson Square.
Blake Shelton’s newest Radio Airplay single “Boys ‘Round Here” has moved from 7 to 6 this week and has now sold 124,000 copies in just two weeks on the charts. The Band Perry’s “DONE.” moves up to #7 from #20 (surprisingly not the highest riser on this chart, more on that below). Lady Antebellum’s Downtown is JUST under Gold-sales status and sits at #8 while Florida Georgia Line’s “Get Your Shine On” is #9 this week. JAson Aldean’s “1994” single is up to #10 and seems on its way to becoming his latest RIAA certified hit.
Riser of the week: Kelly Clarkson’s “Don’t Rush;” Luke Bryan Debuts With “Crash My Party;” George Strait, Lee Brice Gold with latest singles;
In just a little under two hours after the ACM Awards ended on Sunday night, Luke Bryan sold an impressive 26,000 downloads of new single “Crash My Party” but it wasn’t enough to be the highest debut on this week’s chart. That reward went to Lennon and Maisy Stella for their version of The Lumineers’s “Ho Hey” from ABC TV’s “Nashville” series. It debuted at #20 this week. George Strait’s “Give It All We Got Tonight” looks ready to hit #1 at some point and it’s also his first Gold-selling single in three years. Meanwhile Lee Brice’s “I Drive Your Truck” - This week’s Country Airplay #1 - now is his latest Gold-selling single with sales over 503,000. In other SoundScan Gold/Platinum news, this week’s #30 single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” From Thompson Square is now officially Double Platinum while labelmate Dustin Lynch’s “Cowboys & Angels” is Platinum. Finally, Hunter Hayes debuts with two hours of sales at nearly 19,000 sold. Look for Hayes and Bryan to be high on this chart next week.
