At the time of the reported separation, Alean's representative stated, "I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time. It’s a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way.”
The separation and divorce filing came less than a year after photographs surfaced on TMZ of Aldean kissing former American Idolcontestant Brittany Kerr in a bar. The couple was photographed together at the 2013 People's Choice Awards in January, but Ussery did not accompany Aldean to the 2013 ACM Awards earlier this month.
Aldean and Ussery wed in 2001 after having been romantically involved since attending high school together. They have two children.
