Album Review: Jason Crabb - Love Is Stronger

A gifted singer with a strong ability to pick songs that fit his Christian faith, Jason Crabb continues his rise to solo stardom with Love Is Stronger. Read on here to see what we have to say about the new album!

One of the most gifted vocalists to rise in popularity the past decade, Jason Crabb returns after three years with Love Is Stronger, his sophomore solo album. The album starts off with the Country/Pop ballad "Give" and it immediately sets the album up for what is to store, a collection of strong Contemporary Christian tunes.

The lead single "Let Mercy Hold You" gives a slight rock-leaning vibe with strong lyrics about giving up and letting His mercy help you get through the tough and dark storm of whatever is causing life to not go your way. "Living Life Upside Down" recalls the great Restless Heart with its Country/Pop melody while the lyrics give a nice metaphoric message.  "God's Up To Something" is a strong lyrical song with likes like "When you're down to nothing, God's up to something" while being powerfully performed over a sitar-laced Country-ish production.

The record has its fair share of ballads like brilliant vocal showcases "Love Wins," "Near" and piano-laced album closer "Stronger." But, for my money, the best track on the album is the brilliant title track, also a ballad. All of these songs contain Crabb - the reigning Gospel Music Association's Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year - singing songs of Faith and Love. Crabb, along with his producers Ed Cash, Wayne Haun and Jay DeMarcus, has crafted a winning collection of Contemporary Christian music.
