What originally was seen as a one-off side project for Miranda Lambert and her two best friends has proven to be more than that with a Gold single - "Hell On Heels" - a nearly Gold album and Lots of critical buzz. Read on here to learn about the trio's upcoming sophomore album Annie Up!

Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley -- better known around Nashville as the Pistol Annies -- are gearing up for a very special date. May 7, 2013, the girls will release their highly anticipated sophomore album titled Annie Up

“We laid it on the line with [our debut album] Hell On Heels, and we wanted to bring it again on this album,” says Lambert. “The goal of our music is to have people feel like they’re having a conversation with us.”

“We put all our musical chips on the table [with this album], so we thought ‘Annie Up’ was a good title,” adds Monroe.

This week, the album's lead single, "Hush, Hush," impacted country radio. The tune -- like all of them -- was written by the girls through typical conversations. “After we came back from the holidays, we were talking about how horrible it was,” laughs Lambert while talking about the inspiration behind the song's lyrics.

“So we took a little bit of truth from each of our family experiences and wrote this song,” says Monroe.

“We never tried to sit down and write a song," notes Presley. "When we’re together, we’re always just writing. It’s about the truth. The truth is so much easier than lie on top of lie on top of secrets. The truth will set you free."

Starting next week (Tuesday, March 19), fans can keep up with all of the latest Pistol Annies news -- including information on how to unlock additional music -- at their website, www.pistolannies.com.
