Justin Moore Can't Help The Way He Sings, But Wouldn't Change A Thing If He Could

Justin Moore's style is a style that's instantly Country. In this story, Justin discusses why he sings the way he does and how he wouldn't ever want to sing any other way, even if he could. Read on here to get to know the singer of "Point At You" and "'Til My Last Day" better!

It is no surprise that Justin Moore sounds the way he does when he steps up to a microphone and belts out some traditional sounding country music. Other than growing up on the stuff, Moore admits that it's the kind of music that he wants to hear first and foremost when he turns on the radio, and he knows there are fans out there who feel the same exact way.

"I don’t necessarily set out to do that," Moore recently told Roughstock and other media in Nashville of his sound and style. "I’m just kind of doing what comes naturally to me, which is more traditional sounding. That’s what I grew up on. When I turn on the radio, that’s what I want to hear, personally, because that’s what I enjoy. That’s not a knock on any other types of music; that’s just what I enjoy listening to the most.

"I think that’s what’s my voice and my songwriting lends itself to, subconsciously," he continues. "If somebody says that I’m one of those guys who’s trying to keep that going, then that’s a huge compliment to me. I’m just doing what comes natural to me. There’s great music in our format right now across the board, whether it be pop-country, rock-country, etc. It’s all brought new fans into our format who otherwise wouldn’t have been here. I think it’s been a positive."

With the country music format evolving on a daily basis, Moore knows there's room for his sound somewhere in the mix. "In my opinion, I think we do have to understand that we can’t ever let go of what got us to this point," he states. "I think there’s a spot out there for all of us, including traditional country music."

Fans of Moore will be in for a special treat later this year when his new, yet-to-be-titled third studio album hits stores. The project's lead single, "Point At You," hit radio this week.
