Justin Moore Discusses His "Boss" Role For Headlining "Outlaws Like Me" Tour

In this exclusive feature, Justin Moore discusses his role as the 'top dog' in charge of his first ever headlining tour, the Outlaws Like Me Tour that also features Dustin Lynch and Jon Pardi. Read on to learn more from "Point At You" singer himself about his expanding role as the "boss" of the tour.

With a headlining tour comes many new responsibilities, as Justin Moore recently found out when he kicked off his Outlaws Like Me Tour, a tour which also features Dustin Lynch and Jon Pardi. Moore has always had a large size crew surrounding him throughout previous tours, and for good reason: they know what their doing and he does not!

"I’m not a micromanager at all," Moore recently told Roughstock and other media at his No. 1 party gathering for "'Til My Last Day" in Nashville. "I hire guys to work front of house and production stuff because they know what they’re doing and I don’t, and I hire guys backstage to do that stuff. There’s about once a year where I have to really be a 'boss.'" Moore has plenty of touring experience to see how to handle his headlining trek, especially from the years and years of opening for some of country music's most high-profile tours including Brantley Gilbert, Eric Church and Brad Paisley.

"They were all great," Moore reflected back on the previous experiences. "Everybody did things a little different. Everybody was great to me in their own right, whether or not we should’ve been out there in the position we were in or shouldn’t have been. Everybody treated us with the utmost respect, as if we deserved to be where we were. That’s much appreciated. I want Dustin and Jon to leave this tour feeling like they had a blast. If they learn something, great. They’ve both been playing music a long time, too."

While he doesn't think he has anything to teach the newcomers on the rise, he just sets out to give them the best experience possible during the summer. "They’re both incredible artists in their own right and don’t really need me to teach them anything," noted Moore. "But if we can help them improve their show in any way for their own tour, then that’s great, because I subconsciously have taken different things from different people that I’ve been out with. I don’t know if I could pinpoint one thing from someone specifically that I’ve learned, but just being out with everybody, you might see something where you go, ‘Well that’s cool’ or ‘Oh, I’d like to do that.’ Hopefully they leave our tour with the same feeling."

This week the Outlaws Like Me Tour stops in Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota. Visit Moore's official website atwww.bigmachinelabelgroup.com/tour/Justin_Moore for a complete list of dates.
