“I was honored to be part of her Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony a few years ago, as she is just one of the greatest singers of all time," says Jones. He adds, “I am so happy that Barbara is coming to the Nashville show.” Other scheduled performers for the show include Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Crystal Gayle, Garth Brooks, Pam Tillis, Patty Loveless, Kathy Mattea, and over 50 others.
Barbara Mandrell enjoyed a string of Top 40 Country hits stretching from 1970 to 1988, including six number ones. She is remembered for classic hits such as "Sleeping Single In a Double Bed," "The Midnight Oil," and "Years," among others, as well as having been one of Country Music's most acclaimed live performers. Mandrell is also one of the most awarded artists in Country Music history, having won four CMAs, six ACMs, and two Grammys, as well as honors from the American Music Awards, People's Choice Awards, and TNN/ Music City Awards. She was the first female artist ever to win CMA Entertainer of the Year twice in 1980 and 1981, a feat unmatched until Taylor Swift won two non-consecutive Entertainer trophies in 2009 and 2011. Mandrell remains the only female artist to win back-to-back Entertainer of the Year trophies. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
