Country Album Chart News For February 6, 2013: Gary Allan's "Set You Free" #1; Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" Top 5

Gary Allan leads the Top 10 rundown for a second week as no major new releases were able to crack the Top 10 Country Albums chart (Gary's reign at #1 in the Hot 200 Albums chart was overtaken by Justin Bieber's acoustic album). Read on to see the whole Top 10 and a couple notable releases here!

Gary Allan Retains the #1 slot this week while Kris Kristofferson and Blue Sky Riders debut outside of Top 200 Albums but on Country Albums Chart!

Gary Allan scores his second week at #1 on the charts with Set You Free, (a run that’ll end next week with Tim McGraw’s arrival on the charts). He’s now moved 140,000 copies of his ‘comeback’ or ‘breakout’ album (whichever adjective you prefer). Taylor Swift’s Red remains the #2 album this week and these two albums represent the only two albums inside of the Top 10 of the SoundScan Top 200 albums chart. Florida Georgia Line’s Heres To The Good Times  has moved 274,000 copies while “Get Your Shine On” follows “Cruise” up the radio charts. Little Big Town’s Tornado is riding high on the strength of “Tornado” and “Pontoon” to sales of nearly 700k while Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away returns to our Top 5 this week with sales now over 1.27 million (it’s one of a handful of albums to have sales increases this week too).

Jason Aldean, Hunter Hayes, Randy Houser Inside Top 10 With Latest Albums

Country Music stars Jason Aldean, Hunter Hayes and Randy Houser lead the second half of this week’s Top 10 with Night Train, Hunter Hayes, and How Country Feels, respectively. The albums all sold between 11k and 13 this week while Luke Bryan’s Tailgates & Tanlines moved another 10k. Rounding out the Top 10 is the Nashville Original Soundtrack - Volume 1.

Kris Kristofferson, The Blue Sky Riders debut with new records

Zac Brown Band’s Uncaged and Miranda Lambert’s Four the Record continue to gain audiences while Jake Owen’s Barefoot Blue Jean Night returns to the chart. Each of these albums has sold pretty well with ZBB and Miranda around or over the 750k sold mark (3/4 the way to Platinum) while Jake Owen’s around 111k away from Gold.  Kris Kristofferson’s latest Feeling Mortal debuts with sales around 2,000 copies sold, a number that also is around what new trio Blue Sky Riders sold for their Finally Home album. The trio is Kenny Loggins, Georgia Middleman and Gary Burr.

Tim McGraw will debut next week with Two Lanes of Freedom, we may also see the arrival of Holly Williams’ new record The Highway and The STeeldrivers third album, Hammer Down on the chart as well. As usual, we’ll keep you up to date with the chart rundown right here, next week!
