In the past few months she lost the love of her life (David Wilson) to suicide and it appears that after a stint in rehab that the "Ten Thousand Angels" singer has succumbed to the same fate (via gunshot), thus ending a life filled with tragedies all too soon. The suicide has been confirmed by both her brother Josh McCready and Marty Moss, the Sheriff of Cleburne County in Arkansas, where Mindy McCready lived.
Via TMZ, a statement from Cleburne County Sheriff:
"At 3:31 PM, Sunday, February 17th Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 PM and discovered the body of 37 year old Melinda Gayle McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. Mcready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated."

Just last month, Mindy McCready's boyfriend committed suicide and was reportedly being investigated for any involvement with his death. She was just released from a rehab facility last week.
Mindy McCready charted 12 titles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart from 1996 to 2002, including three top 10s: “Ten Thousand Angels” (No. 6, 1996), “Guys Do It All the Time” (No. 1, 1996) and “A Girl’s Gotta Do (What a Girl’s Gotta Do)” (No. 4, 1997).
She placed seven sets on Top Country Albums, with her debut, “Ten Thousand Angels,” marking her lone top 10 (No. 5, 1996). After an eight-year gap, she returned to the chart in 2010 with “I’m Still Here,” which spent a week at No. 71 that April.
McCready sold 1.8 million albums in the U.S. in her career, according to Nielsen SoundScan. 1.2 million if that sum came courtesy of “Ten Thousand Angels.”
Country Stars Remember Life of Mindy McCready
After news broke of the star's death, Twitter and Facebook pages were buzzing with heart-felt tributes about the troubled singer who never could quite get her life on track as she dealt with one horrible event after another. Darius Rucker, Rodney Atkins, Brett Eldredge, Daryle Singletary, Jimmy Wayne, Tracy Lawrence, Steve Wariner and Jason Aldean were just a few who sent prayers and well wishes to McCready's family, especially her two young sons.
"My heart goes out to Mindy McCready's family," wrote LeAnn Rimes. "I knew her well. It's a horrible tragedy. May peace be with her sons."
"I grew up listening to Mindy McCready," Carrie Underwood also chimed in on her Twitter page. "So sad for her family tonight. Many prayers are going out to them."
Hit singer-songwriter Carolyn Dawn Johnson paid possibly the most touching tribute on her Facebook page of the fond and remarkable woman she will always remember McCready being.
"For those of you who met or knew her, you know how welcoming and sweet she really was," Johnson wrote. "I was a new songwriter in town and she was riding high on the charts when we first met. I had the joy of being invited to her home on several occasions. She had a generous heart. I reached out to her a few years ago on here and it seemed she had struggles and we conversed a little bit. I wish I had done more somehow. This all is just so heartbreaking. She was too young. I will remember her very very fondly. I wish life hadn't gotten so hard for her."
McCready was only 37 years old. Her death comes just a couple weeks after her boyfriend and father of her 9-month-old son took his own life, also on the porch of their Arkansas home.
