Country Chart News - The Top 30 Digital Singles: The Week of February 20, 2013: Hunter Hayes "Wanted #1; Carrie Underwood Places Two Hits In Top 5

With "Wanted" getting some Grammy airplay before introducing Carrie Underwood, Hunter Hayes scored the #1 single on this week's Roughstock Top 30 Digital Singles chart. His tour mate Carrie Underwood scored two in the top 5. Read on here to see the complete chart!

Between a Valentine’s Day and Grammy Awards sales bump, sales last week were remarkably strong for nearly every single in the Top 30 with Hunter Hayes reaching #1 on our chart with “Wanted” for the very first time.

Hunter Hayes’ Multi-Platinum Country Radio #1 breakout hit is currently also in the Top 25 on Pop, Top 20 on Adult Contemporary charts and thanks to the romantic holiday and the Grammy Awards performance, it’s now #1 on the Roughstock Top 30 Country Digital Singles Chart for the very first time with a cool 84k more fans taking home the single. With 74k singles sold this week, Blake Shelton’s lead single from Based On A True Story... - “Sure Be Cool If You Did” - is the #2 single this week and sales are now just over 70,000 tracks away from hitting Gold. #3 single “Two Black Cadillacs” - a new high placement for the single - sold 60k tracks this week, one of two Carrie Underwood singles in the Top 5 with “Blown Away” sitting at #5 with only the now Platinum single “Better Dig Two” from The Band Perry sitting in between the two singles.

Tim McGraw “One Of Those Nights,” Lady A’s “Downtown” among Top 10 Singles This Week.

Tim McGraw had two singles inside the Top 3 last week when “Two Lanes Of Freedom” was released and this week he sees only one song inside the Top 10, the current #2 radio airplay hit “One Of Those Nights.” The single is less than 35k away from becoming the second Gold-selling single from the album which was preceeded by Gold-selling Radio Airplay Top 10 hit “Truck Yeah” and will be followed by last week’s #1 Digital Single “Highway Don’t Care” (it’s now at #21 this week). Lady Antebellum’s lead single from “Golden,” “Downtown,” is now at 120k singles sold in two weeks on the Digital Singles chart (and Top 15 on the Radio Airplay chart). Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise” is at #8 this week with sales over 2 million while #9 single “Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)” will hit Platinum status (giving him his first ever such RIAA Digital Single certification) in the next week or two. Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” scored a nice Grammy showcase last week which helped the single squeak back inside this Top 10 chart (only because the very “pop” song was also a Country chart single). It has now sold 3.4 million copies.

Both Darius Rucker and Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel” singles inside Top 30; .

Hunter Hayes and Florida Georgia Line both have singles sitting just outisde the Top 10 with their current Country Radio Airplay hits “Somebody’s Heartbreak” and “Get Your Shine On,” respectively. Hayes’ hit is Gold while FGL’s hit looks ready to get there soon with sales now over 300k. Lee Brice’s “I Drive Your Truck” is an Airplay winner as well as it will make him 3-3 with singles from “Hard 2 Love” scoring with audiences both on the Airplay chart as well as this Digital chart. “Hard To Love” and “A Woman Like You” are both Platinum-selling #1 Airplay hits.

Darius Rucker sits at #20 this week with “Wagon Whell” and has now sold 165,000 copies of his 2013 remake of the Old Crow Medicine Show southern bar band hit with OCMS themselves landing back in the Top 30 for a third week - they temporarily slipped last week - with their original Platinum-selling version. Little Big Town will have their first Double Platinum single next week when “Pontoon” surpasses the sales milestone. Dustin Lynch is less than 50,000 singles sold away from seeing debut Top 5 single “Cowboys & Angels” score a Platinum sales success.

Songs falling out of the Top 30 This Week:

  • Hayden Panettere - “Consider Me”
  • Sarah Darling - “Home To Me”

New singles that may debut next week:

  • Clare Bowen & Sam Palladio - “Casino”
  • Ashley Monroe/Blake Shelton - “You Ain’t Conway (You Ain’t Loretta)”
  • Gretchen Wilson - “Still Rollin’”
