This week finds a nice colleciton of up and comers like Joel Crouse, Jordan Anderson, Outshyne, Blackberry Smoke, Greg Bates, Tyler Farr along with new radio offerings from Lonestar, Train (With Ashley Monroe), Emerson Drive and Lady Antebellum's new one.
Tyler Farr - "Redneck Crazy" (Columbia Nashville)
Farr’s voice has a very commercial feel on this single, which stands as a great example of his talent. The ballad tempo of the song might surprise you if you were expecting a Aldean-ish rocker, but the surprise is a good one.

Outshyne - "Dirt Road Romance" (Self-Issued)
It’s your basic radio-ready rocker with loud and proud guitars. The vocal is edgy, but nothing really sets it apart from the rest of the “Dirt Road” pack.

Joel Crouse - "If You Want Some" (Show Dog-Universal)
The steel licks kick off things on this cool-sounding record. Vocal has a lot of spunk and personality, could be one to make a mark.

Jordan Anderson - "Toxic" (Go Time Records)
A very youth-oriented song that should appeal to the 18-24 demo. Has a neat sing-a-long quality that works well. Fiddle work a reminder that ito "Toxic" from Jordan An

Blackberry Smoke - "Pretty Little Lie" (Southern Ground)
Southern Rock is still alive with this rollicking number about a love going nowhere. A ton of personality which shines through. The chorus also hammers this one out of the ballpark.

Train (Featuring Ashley Monroe) - "Bruises" (Columbia/Nine North)
Train vocalist Pat Monahan‘s vocals soar on this song about life’s knocks along the way, and Ashley Monroe helps to make this one a collaboration to remember. Extremely well-written.

Greg Bates – "Fill In The Blank" (Republic Nashville)
Let me get this right. A rising Country male singer recording....Country. OMG...Stop the presses. Bates is one to watch, and this record reminds me of a 1989 George Strait album cut...which is a very good thing!

Lady Antebellum - "Downtown" (Capitol Nashville)
The guitar work on this record is so good, ranging from rock and funk to (at times) some of the most Country instrumentation Lady Antebellum have had on a single yet. Hillary Scott playing the flirtatious vamp is something you have to love!

Lonestar - Maybe Someday (4 Star/Tenacity)
This is a great reintroduction to an old friend. This emotional ballad has that Lonestar sheen to it, but in no way sounds dated. Well worth a listen!

Emerson Drive - "She's My Kind Of Crazy" (The Talent Associates/Open Road)
The band returns with a song that is perfect for spring and driving with the windows down. The harmony that worked on such records as “Fall Into Me” and “Moments” is very much intact.
