Country Chart News - The Top 30 Digital Singles: The Week of October 10, 2012: Taylor Swift "Red" #1; Carrie Underwood Platinum

Taylor Swift holds down three of the Top 5 singles and squeaks another song - "Ronan" - Into the Top 20 this week. The other news is that Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan both score Platinum milestones with respecitive hit singles. Read on to learn the lowdown of the Top 30 this week!

She has an unmistakable ability to tap into the young adult audience with her music and that audience has grown with Taylor Swift as she’s grown up. Now maturing - mostly - Taylor holds down three of the Top 5 slots on this week’s Top 30 Country Digital Songs report. “Red,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “Begin Again” hold the slots and it’s possible with the latest single - her ‘dubstep’ creation - Taylor could hold #1-4 if “Begin Again” and “Red” can hold fans attention. Florida Georgia Line retains the #4 slot this week with their hot single “Cruise” now only weeks away from Gold. Speaking of certifications, Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” now has sold over 1,000,000 digital singles. This makes Carrie two for two in Platinum singles from Blown Away. 

Gary Allan “Every Storm” & Brad Paisley “Southern Comfort Zone” debut in Top 10

With another 58,000 sold, Hunter Hayes sees his signiture hit “Wanted” pass1.5 million copies sold. Gary Allan debuts at #7 with “Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain).” The single moved 49,000 singles, which is 9,000 more than Brad Paisley’s latest, “Southern Comfort Zone.” Jason Aldean’s 3 week radio airply #1 “Take A Little Ride” sits at #9 as Luke Bryan’s latest digital chart and radio hit “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” sits at #10 with sales approaching 300,000 sold.

Riser Of The Week: Kip Moore “Beer Money”

The only real notable riser on the charts this week - at least as a new single - is Kip Moore’s “Beer Money.” The single has surpassed the 100,000 sold mark while the song makes its way up the radio charts. Other notable singles this week are Dustin Lynch’s #2 airplay hit “Cowboys And Angels” at #13, Jake Owen’s “The One That Got Away” at #18 and Taylor Swift’s fourth song on the chart, the nearly Gold “Ronan” at #19. Sitting at #20 is the Double Platinum hit “Drunk On You.” The song reached this milestone this week becoming his second double platinum hit after “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” reached the mark earlier this year.

Faith Hill debuted at #63 with over 6,000 singles sold for “American Heart.” Craig Campbell debuted at #74 with “Outta My Head” selling over 5,000 singles.
