Hunter Hayes is Country Radio's Most "Wanted" as sophomore Single hits #1 Today

It's incredibly hard for an artist to score a chart-topping #1 hit on any format at any point of their career, yet here Hunter Hayes is doing it with "Wanted," only the second single in his still-growing career. Read on to learn more about the astonishing feat for the Atlantic Records Nashville artist.

Already Platinum, the single is a romantic ballad about all the ways a girl Hunter likes makes him feel. The platitudes and emotional lyrics are certainly timeless and it's likely that many people will be playing "Wanted" at weddings to come. The song has helped his debut album, Hunter Hayes, move at least 1/2 of the 200,000 plus copies he's sold thus far.  The album's lead single, "Storm Warning," is nearing Gold as well.

“Seriously it's hard for me to believe I'm here talking about my first number one record,” said Hunter Hayes upon hearing his single is #1 on both radio charts.  “I am unbelievably grateful for the support from Country Radio, my entire team working behind the scenes and all the incredible fans, all of whom helped me pick this song for a single and supported it all the way to where it is! Thank you! Thank you SO much!”

The third single from Hunter Hayes will be announced soon. In the meantime, you can catch the star on Carrie Underwood's Blown Away Tour.
