Chart News For August 1, 2012: "Uncaged" 'Jumps' Zac Brown Band 'Right In' To #1

With "Uncaged," Zac Brown Band has returned to #1 after a week away giving them the best-selling album in the United States for two out of its three weeks on the charts (only Rapper Nas' latest kept them away from the top slot last week. Read on to find out the whole Country Top 10 here!

Zac Brown Band is “Uncaged” again as they land the #1 slot this week, giving the band two non-consecutive weeks at the top of the SoundScan Top 200 Current Albums chart. Love and Theft debuts in The Top 5 Country Albums.

With 48,000 more albums finding fans, Zac Brown Band has managed to bring sales totals to 361,000 in just three weeks on the charts. Kenny Chesney remains as the #2 country album in the nation with his sales totals for Welcome To The Fishbowl sitting at 372,000 strong. Luke Bryan’s Tailgages & Tanlines is at #3. Landing #4 this week is Love and Theft with their self-titled debut album for RCA Records, a record which features Top 5 hit “Angel Eyes.” The duo sold 14,000 copies. Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away, a record which just released the video for the title track [watch here], lands at #5 this week with 13,000 copies sold.

The Chief, Eric Church Remains a Best-seller and at #5

Eric church and Jason Aldean once again lead the second half of the Top 10 Country albums of the week with Chief and My Kinda Party sitting at #5 and #6. Hunter Hayes leaps back into the Top 10 this week with Hunter Hayes now inching up to the 200,000 sales mark. Lionel Richie’s best-selling Tuskegee sits at #9 with 958,000 copies now sold while Last week’s #4 album, Carry Me Back, from Old Crow Medicine Show, slides to #10.

Notable CDs this week include Josh T, Hank Jr, Skylar & Scotty.

The Notable albums this week start off with Alan Jackson once again scoring with Thirty Miles West. The album has now sold 187,000 copies and is the 11th best-selling country album this week, with Hank Williams, Jr’s Old School New Rules continuing to find an audience (40,000 copies sold in three weeks). Josh Turner has moved 106,000 copies of Punching Bag while, Idols Skylar Laine and Scotty McCreery (both neo-traditionalists) round out our notable albums.

Other albums of note include a 30% sales increase for The Pistol Annies’ Hell On Heels, Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night, and Rascal Flatts’ Changed, which all moved 5,000 more copies this week. Chris Cagle, Edens Edge, Chris Young and Dierks Bentley all moved 3,000 copies of their latest albums
