Chart News For August 8, 2012: Gloriana Debuts at #2 Behind Zac Brown Band

With 23,000 copies sold, Gloriana has debuted on our Top 10 Country Albums Chart rundown this week with A Thousand Miles Left Behind. The only country album to sell more this week is Zac Brown Band's Uncaged. Read on to find out the rest of the Top 10 and our five notable albums this week!

Zac Brown Band is “Uncaged” again as they land the #1 slot this week, giving the band a complete month at #1 on the SoundScan Current Country Albums chart!

With 39,000 more albums finding fans, Zac Brown Band has managed to bring sales totals to 400,000 in just one month on the charts. Gloriana’s sophomore album A Thousand Miles Left Behind debuts at #2 with 23,000 copies sold on the strength of top hit “(Kissed You) Good Night.” Kenny Chesney has the #3 country album in the nation with his sales totals for Welcome To The Fishbowl sitting at 390,000 strong. Luke Bryan’s Tailgages & Tanlines is at #4. Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away, remains at #5 this week but experienced a 3,000 copie sales boost over last week, bring totlas to 673,000.

The Chief, Eric Church Remains a Best-seller and at #5

Eric church and Jason Aldean once again lead the second half of the Top 10 Country albums of the week with Chief and My Kinda Party sitting at #5 and #6. Hunter Hayes leaps back into the Top 10 this week with Hunter Hayes now inching up to the 200,000 sales mark. The various artist star-laden compilation Now That’s What I Call Country 5 is at #9 while Lionel Richie’s best-selling Tuskegee sits at #10 with 965,000 copies now sold.

Notable CDs this week include Alan Jackson & Love and Theft.

The Notable albums this week start off with Love and Theft’s self-titled album sitting at #11 this week with another 6,000 copies being snapped-up by fans. 20,000 fans are now proud owners of the album in two weeks. Alan Jackson once again scoring with Thirty Miles West. The album has now sold 192,000 copies. Lee Brice’s Hard 2 Love has now sold 184,000 copies while Joey + Rory debuted at 96 on the SoundScan Top 200 Current Albums chart with 4,000 copies sold while Chris Young’s Neon now has sold 350,000 total with 4,000 gained this week alone.

Next week we’ll see the arrival of Colt Ford’s Declaration of Independence album.

Other albums of note include a 30% sales increase for The Pistol Annies’ Hell On Heels, Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night, and Rascal Flatts’ Changed, which all moved 4-5k more copies this week.
