Country Chart News: Top 30 Digital Singles: The Week of August 15, 2012

Country music's top 30 digital singles are dissected this week, a week we're calling PTS as in Pre-Taylor Swift. It's likely the final week Little Big Town will hit #1 with "Pontoon" on the digital singles chart for a long spell. Read on to see how the other 29 songs fare!

Little Big Town’s hit of the Summer remains #1, Colt Ford places a pair of songs inside Top 30 for the first time.

It’s the single that keeps on giving as Little Big Town’s Gold single keeps marching towards Platinum status with another 93k fans clicking the buy button on their computers for “Pontoon.” Right beind them is the fast-rising single from Carrie Underwood. “Blown Away” is close to hitting the Gold mark while #3 single “Wanted” from Hunter Hayes is on pace to become Platinum next week, That’ll be a first for him. Jason Aldean’s “Take A Little Ride” is about 2 weeks from Gold while #5 single “Come Over” is on its way to Gold (3-5 weeks away).

Love and Theft #1 with “Angel Eyes” At Radio, Top 10 Digitally.

Love and theft remain one of the 10 best-selling country albums this week with their first #1 airplay hit “Angel Eyes.” The single has now moved 561k copies. Lee Brice’s “Hard To Love” is at 447k sold, meaning it’s roughly two weeks from becoming his third Gold/Platinum single while Luke Bryan’s juggernaut “Drunk On You” surpassed the 1.8 million sold mark.Tim McGraw remains at #9 for the fourth week in a row with “Truck Yeah” while Gloriana closes out the Top 10 with “(Kissed You) Good Night.” They’ve now sold ¾ of a million singles!

Riser of the Week: Colt Ford with two singles in Top 30.

The Top 30 welcomes Colt Ford and Jason Aldean’s “Drivin’ Around Song” at #12. The song, which is part of Colt Ford’s Chart-topping “Declaration of Independence,” sold 30k copies this week. The stars’ second single to break the Top 30 is the album’s lead single “Back,” which features Jake Owen. They’ve now sold 82,000 copies of that song without it becoming much of a radio hit at all. Speaking of new radio hits, Florida-Georgia Line now has a big hit with “Cruise” as they broke the Top 40 while sales eclipse the 210k sold mark. Jana Kramer’s “Why Ya Wanna is Gold with sales over 503k strong. Finally, Dustin Lynch’s “Cowboys And Angels” is only 51,000 singles sold away from hitting #1. He releases his self-titled new record in less than a week.
