Jason Aldean debuts BIG on the Top 30 Digital Singles Chart, with “Take A Little Ride” ending up the week #2 on the SoundScan Digital Singles Chart for All genres.

It’s a major week for Jason Aldean this week as he sets a new record with “Take A Little Ride.” The single sold nearly 190,000 copies in its first week on the charts, giving the superstar quite a bit of buzz as he gets ready to release his upcoming fifth album (we bet “Take A Little Ride” is the title for that album). The past two week’s #1 single, the hit of the summer, “Pontoon” from Little Big Town slides down to #2 and now has sold 600k while Hunter Hayes rises up a notch with a gain of 7,000 copies over last week bring sales past the ¾ million mark. Hunter was given his Gold Plaque for the single while on CBS TV’s The Talk yesterday. Kenny Chesney’s “Come Over” was officially certified Gold by the RIAA this week (along with the album home of the track, Welcome To The Fishbowl) while Luke Bryan’s 1.6 million seller, “Drunk On You” rounds out the Top 5 of this week’s Top 30 Digital single rundown.

Eric Church Sits at #6, Love and Theft #7 This Week

The previously multi-week #1 hit and Top 5 place holder “Springsteen” from Eric Church has surpassed the 1.5 million sales mark and leads our #6-#10 chart rundown. Love And Theft’s biggest career single to date, “Angel Eyes,” now sits at 435,000 copies sold and is a week or two from surprassing the Gold sales mark, something that would be a first for the RCA Nashville duo who just released their debut self-titled album for the label [read review here]. Dierks Bentley’s “5-1-5-0” is also a week or two away from scanning Gold while sitting at #1 on the airplay chart this week. Tim McGraw’s current hit “Truck Yeah,” the first for his new label deal with Big Machine Records, sits at #21 on the airplay chart after three weeks while being at #9 for the second consecutive week on the digital singles sales chart. Totals now are around 131,000! Rounding out the Top 10 is the current #3 airplay single, Gloriana’s “(Kissed You) Good Night.” The talented trio will release their sophomore album next week and have sold 635,000 copies of the breakout hit.

Riser of the Week: Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away”

Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” is up 16 slots this week as the single makes waves at country radio (it’s Top 30). She sold 9,000 more singles than last week and has now sold more than 263,000 copies of the track. Right behind Carrie is Jana Kramer with “Why Ya Wanna,” a Top 12 airplay hit that’s the highest charting debut single for a solo female artist since 2006. She’s now sold 430,00 copies of the single and will likely surpass the Gold sales mark in roughly two to three weeks. Two more notable risers this week include Zac Brown Band’s “The Wind,” a single enjoying a healthy radio chart success, up three to 19 this week while new Republic Nashville duo Florida Georgia Line is at #20 for the first time in thier career (up 4 slots) with “Cruise,” a single which has sold over 130,000 singles without charting on the Billboard or AirCheck major station charts. Look for this to change as the single was officially sent to radio this week with an add date of July 7, 2012. David Nail's cover of Adele's "Someone Like You" debuts at 85 on the chart with over 5,000 singles sold, not bad for a non-radio single.
