Country Chart News: Top 30 Digital Singles: The Week of June 6, 2012

This week we find some singles remaining in similar slots while many other experience remarkable sales gains, some of which can be attributed to digital single sales at iTunes and other marketplaces. Read on to see how the top singles from your favorite stars fared this week!

Luke Bryan’s “Drunk On You” gained 24% in sales over last week to move over 101,000 copies of the single, bring sales over the 1.1 million mark. Eric Church’s “Springsteen” hits the Platinum sales mark, the first time a song or album of his has passed this mark. Meanwhile, Kip Moore’s “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck” has now sold 881,000 copies and was the #3 best-seller this week. This week’s #1 airplay single is Carrie Underwood’s soon-to-be-platinum single “Good Girl.” The Hunter Hayes single “Wanted” is still a remarkable single with a 35 singles sold to one radio airplay spin this week.  The only other single on the Top 50 airplay chart to outsell HH per airplay spin is the #13 best-selling single, Little Big Town’s “Pontoon.”

Kenny Chesney “Come Over” is #6 this week, leads 2nd half of Top 10.

Kenny Chesney’s “Come Over” showcases a star back in his element with an intoxicating and sensual song. It gained 4,000 in sales over last week while Gloriana’s “(Kissed You) Good Night”  slides down to #7 this week. The single is #11 this week on the radio charts. Eli Young Band’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” now sits at #8 with sales approaching 500,000 copies (the single is also #8 on the airplay charts as well). Jason Aldean’s latest single “Fly Over States” is down to #9 this week while Dierks Bentley’s “5-1-5-0” single gained 9,000 in sales this week to enter the Top 10 while also hitting the Top 10 at radio.

Jana Kramer “Why Ya Wanna” lead Notables

Her album is out this week and “Why Ya Wanna,” jumps to #12 on this Digital Singles chart with the single hitting the Top 20 at country radio. Toby Keith’s latest Top 10 radio hit “Beers Ago” is at #14 while Luke Bryan’s “I Don’t Want This Night To End” returns to the Top 15 and has now sold nearly 1.7 million copies. Luke’s other two songs in the Top 40 are back-to-back at #26 (“Country Girl (Shake It For Me)”) and 27 (“Do I”).  

Riser of the Week: Love and Theft’s “Angel Eyes”
Love and Theft’s Top 15 single “Angel Eyes” hits the #16 slot digitally and has now sold 190,000 singles since being released. Josh Turner also has a fast-rising single with “Time Is Love.” while Dustin Linch breaks the Top 20 on both the digital and airplay charts with “Cowboys & Angels.” The Band Perry’s “Postcards From Paris” breaks the Top 30 Digital Singles chart for the first time this week as well.

Easton Corbin’s “Lovin’ You Is Fun” jumps 15 slots on the chart to land outside the Top 30 at #32. He’s now sold 94,000 copies of the track. Some recent classic singles enjoying hearty digital sales this week include Jason Aldean’s “Tattoos On This Town,” “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” from Thompson Square, Jake Owen’s “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried,” Rodney Atkins’ “Farmer’s Daughter,” the Zac Brown Band hits “No Hurry” with Jimmy Buffett and “Toes.”  Rascal Flatts’s “My Wish” and Big ^ Rich’s “Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy” Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel,” and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s Gold-selling single “Fishing In The Dark” round out the notables.

One single to keep an eye on is Florida-Georgia Line’s “Cruise” a single which has yet to appear on radio single charts yet is the #60 best-seller this week. Another last single of note is Dolly Parton and Kris Kristofferson’s “From Here To The Moon And Back” gaining 900+ sales increase.
