Alan Jackson sells the most first week albums from an album since 2008’s Good Time, while his single “So I Don’t Have To Love You Anymore” picks up steam at radio!
With 73,000 sold, Alan Jackson’s debut on his own ACR/EMI Nashville label nearly hit #1 on the Top 200 Current Albums Chart from SoundScan and that was more than enough to give the icon his 13th #1 country album (including a pair of Greatest Hits projects). Right behind him, but nearly 50,000 copies behind, is Carrie Underwood with her 5 week #1 Blown Away. She’s now sold 545,000 copies.
Luke Bryan tailgates & tanlines #3 country Album this week!
The rest of the Top 5 and the #6 album (Eric Church’s Chief) are in the Top 20 this week. “Shakin’” Luke Bryan moved 25,000 copies of tailgates & tanlines this week while having the #1 digital single for a second week with “Drunk On You.” Lionel Richie’s Tuskegee has now sold 862,000 albums while Jana Kramer debuts at #5 (#19 overall) this week with just over 16,000 copies of her self-titled Elektra Nashville debut album.
Kip Moore Remains Top 10 with Up All Night
Eric Church’s previously mentioned Chief remains in the Top 20 overall and leads the #6-#10 section of the country charts. The album has moved 16,000+ copies again this week, bringing his total closer to the Platinum status (the same week his debut album Sinners Like Me was certified Gold, giving each of his albums at least that certification). Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” continues to sell while Kip Moore’s Up All Night has now sold 114,000, giving him the best-selling debut country album of 2012 thus far. Lady Antebellum is right behind Kip with Own The Night, while Hard 2 Lovefrom Lee Brice sits at #41 overall, giving the Top 10 country albums just under one-fourth of the Top 40 albums in the USA!
Zac Brown Band & Pistol Annies Lead Notable Albums
Zac Brown Band’s You Get What You Give scores a sizeable sales increase thanks to their stellar CMT Music Awards performance and they’re followed on this notable list by Willie Nelson’s Heroes (also earning a post-CMT Music Awards sales bump). The Pistol Annies score the remarkable sales bum of 70% sales increase and a 73 page jump from 149 to 76 this week with their self-titled debut album. Hunter Hayes scores a seven slot jump with his self-titled album buoyed by the success of “Wanted,” the second single from the album while the Rodney Crowell and Mary Karr collaboration Kin debuts at 170 on the SoundScan Top 200 Current Albums chart with 3,000 copies sold.
Other notable albums this week include Rascal Flatts’ Changed (8,000 copies sold this week) Brantley Gilbert’s Halfway To Heaven (6,000), Miranda Lambert’s Four The Record (5,000), Scotty McCreery’s Clear As Day (6,000), Tim McGraw’s Emotional Traffic (4,000),Chris Young’s Neon (3,000), and Jake Owen’s Barefoot Blue Jean Night (3,000).
