Country Chart News: Top 30 Digital Singles: The Week of May 2, 2012

Country Music's Top 30 Digital Singles report for this week is out. Read on to see why Jason Aldean has five singles in the Top 30 this week and why five other singles appeared in the top 100 as well. Read on to find out the new debuts, certifications and more!

The Top Five singles include four of the same Top Five singles from last week. #1-4 (Taylor Swift “Eyes Open,” Eric Church “Springsteen”, Luke Bryan “Drunk On You,” Carrie Underwood “Good Girl”) remain the same four songs with the # 5 single, Kip Moore’s “Something ‘Bout A Truck” replacing last week’s #5 “A Woman Like You.”

Top 10 includes Aldean, Brice, Lambert and Eli Young Band!

With over 460,000 copies sold, Jason Aldean’s “Fly Over States” sits at #6 this week and his single is the first of four songs in our Top 20 and five in the complete Top 30 rundown this week. Lee Brice is at #7 with “A Woman Like You” while Miranda Lambert’s “Over You” remains at #8 this week. Kenny Chensey and Tim McGraw’s “Feel Like A Rock Star” sits at #9 while #10 finds the first time Eli Young Band’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” has reached the milestone.

Hunter Hayes, Johnny Cash, Jason Aldean lead notables

Hunter Hayes continues his march up the Digital singles chart with “Wanted” hitting #11 this week after being at #15 last week. He’s followed at #12 by Johnny Cash whose, “Hurt” continues to find audiences after a sale similar to Aldean’s iTunes sale.  Lee Brice’s new single “Hard To Love” sits at #13 this week meanwhile Aldean’s Dirt Road Anthem is at #14 and only 6,000 singles away from Triple Platinum. Other aldean singles sit at #16 (750K seller “Tattoos On This Town”), #17 (1.9m seller “She’s Country”), and #27 with “Big Green Tractor,” now a Double Platinum selling single. Soon to be certified singles include Blake Shelton’s “Drink On It,” Tim McGraw’s “Better Than I Used To Be,” Brantley Gilbert’s “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” and Lady Antebellum’s “Dancin’ Away With My Heart.” 

Jana Kramer and Toby Keith Risers of the Week

Jana Kramer appears in the Top 30 for the first time in her career with “Why Ya Wanna” The single has now sold at 130,000. Her debut album arrives in one month. Meanwhile Toby Keith rounds out the Top 30 with his new hit “Beers Ago.”  There are a few re-appearances from Aldean singles this week as “Amarillo Sky,” “Lauhed Until We Cried” (his latest Gold single), and “The Truth” all appear in the Top 50. “Johnny Cash,” “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” “Days Like These,” “My Kinda Party” and “Country Boy’s World” all appear on the Top 50, as do re-apparances from Tim McGraw’s “Don’t Take The Girl,” “Just To See You Smile,” The Soggy Bottom Boys’ “I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow” and Miley Cyrus’ The Climb (3.4 million total sales). 

Debut singles include Lee Brice’s “That’s When You’ll Know It’s Over” at #38, “Hey Pretty Girl” from Kip Moore at #51, Brice’s “Friends We Won’t Forget at #60, and “She Will Be Free” from the Josh Abbott Band at #70.
