With another 22,000 copies sold, Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (which has 6 singles featured on the album) has now sold nearly 3.8 million copies. Luke Bryan’s next with “Tailgates and Tanlines” having officially scanned past the gold mark and now is marching its way to Platinum. A few more interesting facts for SoundScan’s December 7, 2011 Top Current Albums Chart:

  • The Civil Wars are one of the few bands to see traction last week (without being a Christmas music album). They’ve now sold 222,000 copies of Barton Hollow in 44 weeks on the chart – all of this without a true ‘hit’, though “Poison & Wine” comes close. They were nominated for two Grammy Awards last week.
  • Justin Moore has sold 309,000 copies of Outlaws Like Me.
  • Jake Owen has sold 133,000 copies of Barefoot Blue Jean Night.
  • Chris Young’s Neon has moved 231,000 copies.
  • Eli Young Band has sold 130,000 copies of Life at Best.

Next week we’ll see if the ACA Awards helped album sales at all or if it was purely a tv spectacle.
