- George Strait has been on the charts for three weeks with Here For A Good Time and has now sold nearly 160,000 copies while the title track tries to become yet another #1 hit for the “King of Country Music.”
- Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party contines to, well, party, in the Top 5 country albums on this week’s SoundScan Top 200 Current Albums chart.
- Brantley Gilbert, last week’s #2-selling country album has now sold over 200,000 copies in both the Average Joes Entertainment version and the now Valory Music Group Deluxe, remixed and re-mastered version.
- Luke Bryan has now sold nearly 325,000 copies of Tailgates & Tanlines as he heads out on his Farm Tour (which is separate from his CMT On Tour tour).
- Eric Church’s Chief has sold 355,000-plus copies since being released during the summer and with “Drink In My Hand” set to be the biggest single of his career, I am betting that the album quickly approaches Platinum by the end of the holiday season, something that could also happen to Headlining Entertainer of the Year nominee Blake Shelton with Red River Blue as well.
- The Jayhawks return from a near 16 year hiatus (with original core members) to score a Top 10 country chart debut for their country/rock (‘Americana’ if you prefer) Mockingbird Time, the group’s debut for Rounder Records.
- Jake Owen has now sold over 100,000 copies of “Barefoot Blue Jean Night, the album as the single heads to platinum sales status. Regardless of the #1 single’s status, it has given Jake his fastest-selling album to date and should help “Alone With You” do well too.
- Zac Brown Band has sold nearly 1.2 million copies of You Get What You Give.
- The Pistol Annies are set to cross the 100,000 sales mark next week, a fantastic achievement for a group without a big hit on radio yet (but the title track “Hell On Heels” continues to get XM Sirius airplay).
- Brad Paisley’s Gold-selling This Is Country Music is the #15 seller on this week’s chart as he and Carrie Underwood announced that they’d perform “Remind Me” on the CMA Awards telecast that they’re hosting in November.
- The Oak Ridge Boys return with It’s Only Natural this week and it’s the Iconic Grand Ole Opry cast members’ first appearance on this chart in years. They sold 6,700 copies if the record through the Exclusive Cracker Barrel Stores arrangement.
- Kenny Chesney’s Hemingway’s Whiskey has become the star’s 10th Platinum or better album and his label will release “Reality” as the fifth and likely final single from the album. It looks to enjoy 3 #’1s and the CMA Nominated “You And Tequila” in the Top 5.
- Chris Young’s Neon leads the interesting albums chart this week as it remains in the Top 100 of the SoundScan Top 200 Current Albums chart.
- Kristin Chenoweth has dropped down the chart to 113 this week from her 48 debut with her first country album Some Lessons Learned.
- Singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson’s Modern Love re-enters the Top 200 chart this week with the album having sold nearly 65,000 copies as the Vanguard Records artist looks to have as big a hit as “Come On Get Higher” was for his last record Some Mad Hope.
- Rootsy singer/songwriter Amos Lee – who had an early 2011 #1 debut with Mission Bell – returns to the chart this week as well as the record inches past the 160,000 sold mark.
- Rounding out our rundown this week is Reckless Kelly’s Good Luck and True Love.
