Discovered by fellow Detroit native Kid Rock, Ty has an easy heartland rock sound that is very easy on the ears. The production is definitely on the ‘rocking’ side of the fence but it’s not as loud or rambunctious as recent hits for Jason Aldean or Justin Moore or Randy Houser and Stone’s lyrics are so true to life – they’re literally ripped from his own life – that any melody is almost secondary to the power that these lyrics have. Quite simply, there’s not a doubt in my mind about how powerful “American Style” is and how it is the right anthem to blast as we get through this uncertain economic time.
