CMA Fest Wrap-Up: Day Three Diary

In the third day of adventures at the CMA Music Festival, Michael Sudhalter spent some time at the City of Hope Celebrity Softball game, taking a free ride in a new chevy car and, taking in the Fan Fair Convention Hall.  Read on to find out the details.

Note: Our reporter was sent to CMA Fest by Chevrolet, who have graciously sponsored this post.

The CMA Music Festival is full of many choices to do throughout the day. Sure, there are so many concerts, events and autograph signings you can choose from. But one of the toughest decisions is just how much sleep should you get. I didn't get too much sleep and woke up wondering if I should wake up for the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge.Although I was very tired, I managed to get out of bed. It's a fun event for a great cause, and how often am I in Nashville? The event was even better than I expected.

It was great seeing Dierks Bentley, Joe Nichols, Vince Gill and American Idol 1-2 (Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina), Tennessee Titans Kerry Collins and Rob Bironas, but there were heart-wrenching moments, especially when a young girl with Stage 4 Cancer ran the bases and was greeted by loud cheers and the celebrities who participated in the game. Many of the artists, including McCreery and Nichols, signed autographs for fans after the game.

From there, I headed downtown using the Catch A Chevy free shuttle service, which was a nice reprieve from the heat. I learned a great deal about the Chevrolet Cruze, and it was a very comfortable car. My Chevrolet Riverfront Stage experience consisted of watching Corey Smith and American Idol contestant Crystal Bowersox. Both of them are uniquely talented and have a great deal to contribute to country music.

I spent most of the rest of the day at the Convention Center. Roughstock had some very talented artists present at their booth, and it was nice to see Bowersox signing autographs for a very long line of fans at the Chevrolet Booth.

Now, the moment you've all been waiting for....my test drive. It's coming up tommorow -- stay tuned.
