The Lunabelles - "A Place To Shine"

One of the defining traits of the recent crop of country newcomers has been the relative uniqueness of each artist’s sound. Does this new BNA Records quartet manage to carve out their own unique sound? Read on to find out what we have to say about this debut.

For a quartet they do harmonize well, though I wish it were a bit more of a focal point.  The lead singer’s voice is ok, though there’s nothing particularly special or emotive about it though.  The lyrics, about a girl trying to find herself, are serviceable but underdeveloped as the song doesn’t seem to go anywhere.   In the end, there’s nothing definitely bad or polarizing about this song, but on the same token, it just doesn’t do enough to garner much attention.  It’s a bit ironic, for a song about a girl trying to stand out, to find her “place to shine”, the song itself does nothing to help the Lunabelles stand out, and is unlikely to be their “place to shine”.
