Featuring some tasty guitar, hand percussion and lilting acoustic piano vibes, “One More Drinkin’ Song” has that Garth Brooks-like vibe to it and quite honestly, people may be surprised by the chameleon-like ability of Jerrod to be able to sound different enough on each of his singles so far. While it’d be pretty easy to declare “One More Drinkin’ Song” a ‘crappy’ song simply because it is a song about writing a drinking song instead of ‘writing about love or money, something sad or something funny,’ stating “hey, hey, hey, what’s so wrong with one more drinkin’ song?”
It’s likely to be a quick and huge hit this summer as the playful lyric and melody suit the summertime party soundtrack vibe, just like “Two More Pina Coladas” from Garth Brooks was. Undoubtedly a country song in vocal and melody, about the only objectionable thing for many may be the “marga-daiquiri-screw-oloda-on the beach” line. It’s a cute, clever line that may rub some people the wrong way but, hey, hey, hey, it’s only a drinkin’ song and one that I think will do remarkably well with both radio and fans. Especially since the chorus is oh-so-sing-able and definitely something that will be karaoke fodder for years to come.
