For the third time in three weeks, the #1 album in the United States is a country music album. Toby Keith earns the distinction this week with his latest album Bullets in the Gun displacing last week’s chart-topper, Kenny Chesney’s Hemingway’s Whiskey, which sits at 32 this week with almost 6,000 units less sold this week. Kenny Chesney has now sold nearly 250,000 copies in two weeks. The Zac Brown Band’s You Get What You Give, the #1 album three weeks ago, slides to #5 on the SoundScan Hot 200 Albums chart this week, giving country music three of the Top 5 albums this week. Jamey Johnson’s The Guitar Song has the fourth highest sales this week for a country album. The record –which features the Top 40 hit “Playing The Part” – has now sold nearly 130,000 copies since being released. Billy Currington’s Enjoy Yourself rounds out this week’s Top 5 with the album finding 15,000 more homes taking a shine to the album.

Carrie Underwood’s Play On sits at 11 in our rundown this week with the album now working on a fourth #1 single in “Mama’s Song.” Taylor Swift’s sophomore Fearless album is right after her ‘fiercest rival’ and actually had an uptick in sales this week bringing her comfortably over the 6 million scanned mark. Little Big Town’s The Reason Why is next and has nearly sold 100,000 copies in a month on the charts. Trace Adkins’ Cowboy’s Back In Town has now sold nearly 130,000 since being released in August while Jerrod Niemann’s Judge Jerrod and the Hung Jury rounds out the Top 15 this week and has sold nearly 140,000 copies since being released this past July. It was also one of the best-selling albums of the third quarter for country music and the only ‘new artist’ album in that rundown.

Blake Shelton’s All About Tonight has nearly sold 100,000 copies and while it’s likely to hit that mark, it may not get much further due to the upcoming Loaded:The Greatest Hits album which features both “All About Tonight” and “Who Are You When I’m Not Looking,” making the SixPak somewhat irrelevant to most fans who don’t already own all of Blake Shelton’s music. Eric Church’s Carolina is next and it is likely to pass the 300,000 albums sold mark sometime this fourth quarter as fans ask for it on their holiday gift lists. Brad Paisley’s American Saturday Night sits next and will soon be displaced by Hits…Alive, Brad’s first Greatest Hits project which will be ½ studio stuff and ½ live recordings of his hits. He also started working on his next album for Arista Records and I’d expect that studio release to come sometime in February or March. Luke Bryan’s Doin’ My Thing is inching ever so close to the Gold-scanned mark (only 50,000 copies to go) but it’s already a Gold-certified album for the singer of such fun songs like “Rain is A Good Thing” and “Country Man.” The latest hit from the album is “Someone Else Calling You Baby.” Easton Corbin rounds out this week’s Top 20 (our rundown) country albums on the Hot 200 Albums chart from SoundScan with his eponymous debut now past the 250,000 sold mark.

The interesting albums section of this week features Rodney Atkins, the Cracker Barrel Exclusive re-issue of the If You’re Going Through Hell album. The current hit “Farmer’s Daughter” is also on the album, which means that the song will be on three consecutive Rodney Atkins albums in a row. Randy Houser’s critically-acclaimed They Call Me Cadillac has been out for three weeks and now has scanned over 15,000 copies. The album features the hit “Whistlin’ Dixie” and the current single “A Man Like Me.” Josh Turner has this week’s #1 single with “All Over Me,” and his 35 week-old album Haywire has now sold over 321,000 copies. Chicken & Bisucits, from Colt Ford, continues to give the artist a remarkable sales record with the album nearing the 120,000 copies scanned mark since being released this spring. Joey+Rory’s Album Number Two rounds out our rundown for possibly the last time for a while as the album – which features upcoming single “That’s Important To Me” – has now sold nearly 16,500 copies in a month on the charts.
