Sara Evans - "A Little Bit Stronger"

After taking quite a bit of time off to recharge and just live her life, Sara Evans is back in the spotlight with this new single.  A lead-single from her upcoming - still untitled - album, does it have enough to remind radio of her considerable talent?

It's been a long time since Sara Evans has graced the country music airwaves with a new single.  After releasing Greatest Hits, the powerhouse vocalist went home with her blended family with Jay Barker in Alabama and just lived live for a little bit.  Now ready to return, Sara teamed up with well-known veteran producer Tony Brown for the recording of her new album.  Brown brought with him a crack production team and Evans and the A&R folks at RCA Nashville found her a dandy in a return tune in "A Little Bit Stronger."

The production is light where it needs to be light with soft mandolin, piano and percussion accenting Sarah's nuanced vocal performance.  Written by Luke Laird, Hillary Lindsey and Hillary Scott* (of Lady Antebellum), "A Little Bit Stronger" finds Sara Evans using her soaring alto to wring every bit of emotion out of the lyrics that chronicle a woman's ability to move on after a long relationship ends.

In country music interviews many artists speak about only singing songs they have lived or can relate to and "A Little Bit Stronger" certainly feels like a song Sara Evans has lived at some point in her life.  It may have been her recent past with her previous husband or some relationship before it but given the nuanced passion of the vocal, there's no doubt that she's lived this song at some point in her life and that's what ends up making this a fantastic 'come back' single and one that country radio cannot possibly ignore.

*Hillary Scott provides harmony vocals on the track.
