Richie Fields - Wichita

After releasing some strong singles prior to last fall, Richie Fields released "Losing You" and while it was a perfectly competent single release, it didn't showcase what we'd grown to like about the artist's previous singles.  Does this single fare any better?

After releasing three strong singles that revealed a talented singer-songwriter waiting to breakthrough, Richie Fields released a single titled “Losing You” last summer.  While an OK single, it didn’t sound as good as the previous singles and that likely hurt its chances at country radio.  Rather than pack-up and go home Richie has returned with a new single called “Wichita” that is as good as his first three singles.

There’s a driving melody which backs Richies, flexible baritone that sounds great coming through the speakers.  Working with producer J. Gary Smith (who’s worked with people like Andy Griggs), Richie is back in the kind of territory that he was mining prior to “Losing You.”

There’s nothing to not like about “Wichita,” it has a moody sounding melody and Richie Fields’ engaging vocal.  I can’t wait to hear a whole record from this guy.
