Modern Country ‘Outlaws’ To Tribute Lynyrd Skynyrd on 8 Track album:

Sweet Home Alabama – The Country Music Tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd features eight new songs from some of the hottest ‘outlaw’ country stars currently working in country music.  Jamey Johnson, Eric Church, Randy Houser, Ashley Ray, Eli Young Band, Shooter Jennings and Randy Montana are joined by Uncle Kracker on this Jay Joyce-produced tribute to the iconic southern rock band.  TO be released by Hippo/UMe Records exclusively through Walmart stores on July 20.

Gloriana Announces Summer Tour

2010 Teen Choice Award nominees Gloriana have announced their concert tour for 2010.  Starting Thursday during Grand Junction, Colorado’s Country Jam USA, Gloriana will hit 40 venues on their Long Hot Summer Tour. The tour will stop in places like Greely, CO, Atchinson, KS, Pittsfield, PA, Springfield, MS, Rhinebeck, NY and Oklahoma City, OK during the duration of their tour, which completes with a date on September 11, 2010 at Berea, Ohio’s Hebron Harvest Festival.

Kellie Pickler’s Big Announcement

Country star Kellie Pickler announced her engagement to songwriter Kyle Jacobs.  Jacobs has co-written hits for Garth Brooks (“More Than A Memory”) Kimberly Locke (“8th World Wonder”), Tim McGraw (“Still”), Adam Gregory’s two top 40 hits, and songs for artists like Lee Brice (his frequent co-writer), Trace Adkins, Clay Walker, Andy Gibson and Pickler herself.  Kellie joins fellow country blonde bombshells Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert as country stars currently engaged. 

Rascal Flatts Named ‘Ambassadors’ for the Jason Foundation

It was announced today that Rascal Flatts has been named the ambassadors, or celebrity spokesmen, for the Jason Foundation (JFI) in addition to their roles in public service announcements, public awareness programs and fundraising they will also promote the foundation’s newly created “B1” Project.  The “B1” Project is an effort specifically geared to educate youth and students on how to recognize when a friend might be struggling with thoughts of suicide or life in general.  The band will show public service announcements during their “Nothing Like This” Concert tour which launches later this June in Raleigh, North Carolina.
