Jaron and the Long Road to Love Hits The Top of Charts

With Getting Dressed in the Dark Jaron Lowenstein and his 'band' Jaron and the Long Road to Love have landed one of this week's top-selling albums of the week.  Find out where he and other newcomer albums landed on this week's Hot 200 Albums

He has one of the most popular songs on the country music charts in “Pray For You” and now Jaron of Jaron and the Long Road To Love has the second most popular album on the country music sales chart this week as his solo debut Getting Dressed in the Dark debuts this week behind the juggernaut that is Need You Now from Lady Antebellum.  On the overall Nielsen SoundScan Hot 200 Albums chart, Jaron landed at 16th, the sixth highest debut of the week behind Eminem, Miley Cyrus, Ozzy Osbourne, the Roots and R&B Legend Keith Sweat.  Lady Antebellum sold nearly 33,000 copies again while Jaron and the Long Road to Love moved nearly 24,000.  Right behind Jaron is the Zac Brown Band and their debut album The Foundation.  Miranda Lambert with her Revolution and Carrie Underwood with Play On round out the Top 5 country albums on the Nielsen SoundScan Hot 200 Albums chart this week.  Underwood’s now Top 10 with “Undo It,” which is also the best-selling digital country single in the USA.

Leading the second half of this week’s Top 10 Country albums is Dierks Bentley with Up On The Ridge.  Fearless, from Taylor Swift is the seventh best-seller while Jewel’s “Sweet and Wild” is next.  Jewel has sold over 55,000 copies in three weeks while a tribute album to John Prine and Uncle Kracker’s new EP Happy Hour…The South River Road Sessions round out the Top 10 country albums this week.  Kracker’s single continues it’s cross-over rise to the top 10 while fellow pop/rock act Train looks to follow in his footsteps with “Hey, Soul Sister” crossing over.

Luke Bryan continues to do his thing in the next section on this week’s Top 15.  With “Rain Is A Good Thing” looking more and more like a #1 single, the artist is marching towards Gold status with nearly 375,000 copies sold.  Brooks & Dunn, the retiring duo, continues to sell their best-of set #1’s and Then Some at a nice pace with over 6,000 more fans taking the record home. It has sold nearly 380,000 copies.  Jason Aldean’s “Wide Open” sits at 13 on this week’s chart with Wide Open.  Aldean remains at #2 on the single’s chart this week as “Crazy Town” was passed over by Brad Paisley’s “Water” after the month-long run @ #1 for Miranda Lambert.  Clay Walker, with “She Won’t Be Lonely Long” and the album of the same name has sold nearly 35,000 albums while getting another Top 10 hit in the single.  Lady Antebellum closes out the Top 15 with their self-titled debut and the trio has now sold nearly 1.7 million copies of the record.

Lee Brice starts off the artists to watch section of this week’s chart as his Love Like Crazy album has moved nearly 33,000 copies in 3 weeks of release in stores.  His single of the same name remains at 11 on this week’s Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Easton Corbin, who’s “Rolling With It” to the Top 20 again this week, finds his self-titled debut in over 5,000 more homes this week.  He’s now found a home in over 180,000 people’s hearts.  Josh Turner is next with his fourth album Haywire.  He and Chris Young are both near 275,000 albums sold.  Young’s album sits at 138 on this week’s Hot 200 Albums chart while he gets ready to follow-up 2 #1 singles with a re-release of the single “Voices.”  Finishing up this week’s chart is Colt Ford with his Chicken & Biscuits album.  He’s now sold over 65,000 copies of the album since being released 10 weeks ago.
