Ash Bowers - "Ain't No Stopping Her Now"

After a disappointing sound-alike single in "Stuck," Ash Bowers returns with a second single that he hopes will become his breakout hit.  Does the song have enough going for it to become that elusive hit for the Stoney Creek Records' singer/songwriter?

Aside from releasing a second album after a really successful debut album, the hardest thing for an artist to do is to find a song and or sound that will appeal to both radio programmers and fans alike.  Even though “Stuck” didn’t become as big a hit as Ash Bowers and his label Stoney Creek Records had hoped the single would be come, it did nonetheless announce Ash Bowers arrival.  With “Ain’t No Stopping Her Now,” (listen here) Ash Bowers has moved onto his second single for his label and after one listen to the song, with an appealing slide/steel guitar-led smoky melody, Ash Bowers has provided fans with a sound that fits country radio much better than “Stuck” did (there seems to only be one or two artists allowed to sing such songs at a time).

The first thing from the song that grabbed a hold of me is the melody, a smoky melody that recalls something you might hear from Gary Allan, the second thing that comes through are lyrics that really are true to life.  It finds Ash placing himself into a set of circumstances where he continued to push and push his girlfriend to do things she doesn’t want or like to do and it left Bowers sitting and contemplating how he couldn’t heed his better half’s warnings about her desire to leave if he didn’t change himself just a bit.

This is a song that works well within the mainstream country radio environment and if Ash Bowers can score the hit this song should have the chance to become, Ash Bowers should be around for the foreseeable future.
