Chely Wright Comes Out

In news that will likely be a surprise to some longtime fans, country singer Chely Wright, who scored a handful of Top 10 hits over the last 15 years, including the #1 hit "Single White Female," has announced to People magazine that she's a lesbian.

Chely Wright, the award-winning singer/songwriter behind such hits like "Sea of Cowboy Hats," "It Was," "Jezebel" "The Bumper of my SUV," "Shut Up And Drive," "Never Loved You Enough" and "Single White Female," recently came out as a lesbian in an interview with People Magazine.  She said "Nothing in my life has been more magical than the moment I decided to come out.”  The singer has a new album (delayed for more than a year) called Lifted Off The Ground.

What do you think? Do you care?  Do you think the world would care more if a superstar country singer was to announce they were gay?  Does this announcement mean you won't ever listen to Chely Wright songs again?
