Garth Discusses His Meeting with President Obama
Garth Brooks was at the White House Wednesday to present President Obama with a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for "The Audacity of Hope." This is actually the President's second Grammy- he won the same category in 2006 for "Dreams From My Father." The president in turn presented Garth with a special. "Grammy on the Hill Award" for his leadership in advancing the rights of music makers.

Sony Music Nashville Taps Gary Overton for President Post
Sony Music Nashville's longtime top dog Joe Galante, who guided the careers of Alabama, Dolly, The Judds, Restless Heart, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley among many others during his 40 years with RCA/BMG/Sony announced he was stepping down from the label Wednesday and Sony Music took no time in announcing their replacement as they chose EMI Music Publishing Nashville's President Gary Overton as their new chief executive of the Nashville branch of Sony Music. The RCA, BNA, Columbia and Arsita labels are now going to be under the longtime songwriting executive's vision.
Randy Houser “I Love This ‘Open’ Bar” performance on CMT
CMT.com will go live from Las Vegas to stream the special performance of Randy Houser and friends on Saturday, April 17 at 10:30 p.m. PT (4/18 at 12:30 a.m. CT) at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill at Harrah’s. Houser kicks off the party just one night before the Academy of Country Music Awards, as he celebrates his first nomination for Video of the Year for the hit single “Boots On.” Houser’s “I Love This ‘Open’ Bar” blowout will also be available for on demand streaming at CMT.com on Sunday for fans who can’t catch the action live. The live-stream is the first in a series of performances that will be featured on CMT.com throughout the upcoming months.
